Whisper of Love Tempest Braden Love in Bloom The Bradens at Peaceful Harbor Book 5 eBook Melissa Foster
Whisper of Love- Tempest BradenIn all honesty, the story of Tempest, Noah and Flip (Phillip) was my favorite of the multitude of books that Melissa Foster has written in all of the Love in Bloom story line, and dare I say, even beyond to all of her books.
Tempest is the only girl in the Braden family of Peaceful Harbor, a music therapist who has moved to Pleasant Hill to expand her children’s music therapy business. After responding to an ad for a room in his house, Tempest meets Noah and his adorable son, Phillip.
We find as the story unfolds that Noah has parented Phillip alone and right or wrong, has never left him alone with anyone else. It’s always been just the two of them. Tempest quickly realizes how Phillip is the mirror image of his dad, never speaking without his affirmation and copying every one of his mannerisms. Phillip has never been to a playground or around other children his age, but Noah doesn’t realize this is not typical until Tempest shares a new perspective with him.
As they navigate becoming roommates and ultimately more, Phillip benefits from this relationship with Tempest as well. He slowly warms up to having a female influence in his life, which obviously affects Noah’s rapidly growing feelings for Tempest.
Whisper of Love has every opportunity to turn into a formulaic and boring, run-of-the mill love story, yet for me, it was never that. It was a sweet, sweet coming together of a man who didn’t know he needed someone until he found her and a woman who found someone she didn’t know she wanted until she found him.
I highly, highly recommend Whisper of Love if you’ve never read a Melissa Foster book or if you’ve read every one. It’s a great standalone book but I give you fair warning: you will probably want to know more about the rest of the Bradens, and beyond, once you dip your toe into the Foster fountain!

Whisper of Love Tempest Braden Love in Bloom The Bradens at Peaceful Harbor Book 5 eBook Melissa Foster Reviews
Whisper of Love is the fifth book in the Bradens at Peaceful Harbor series and the thirty seventh in the Love in Bloom series by Melissa Foster. True to form for Foster, it was well written, well developed and filled with depth and dimension.
Tempest "Tempe" Braden was the beautiful, kind, sincere and authentic music therapist to children. Nash Morgan was the gorgeous, rugged, silent, cautious, single parent and artist. Phillip Morgan was Nash's adorable three year old son. He brought many cute antics to the storyline. And I fell in love with how his actions mirrored his father's.
Tempe was making a fresh start and had just moved to Pleasant Hill from Peaceful Harbor. She answered an ad and rented a room from Nash until she could decide whether Pleasant Hill was where she could put down her new roots. The attraction was instant and the storyline began.
Whisper of Love was intense but also sweet. The suspense came from the secret experiences that Nash was harboring that had shaped his life and was the cause of the perfectly constructed walls of protection for himself and his son. Tempe's sweet innocence broke the barrier and the walls began to crumble revealing the heartbreak, anger and betrayal that was buried deep for years. The journey became one of healing, trust, hope, love and the promise of new beginnings.
As with all of the Braden series, the Bradens were front and center as strong supporting cast members, providing additional depth and substance to the storyline.
Through Tempe's story, Foster set the stage well for the next new series, the Bradens at Pleasant Hill, which will include Tempe's cousins Jillian, Jax, Nick, Beau, Zev and Graham.
In the meantime, we have one Peaceful Harbor sibling left. Ty's story is next in Thrill of Love and I can't wait!
It is said that "music tames the savage beast" but can it also heal a closed and broken heart?
Tempest Braden describes herself as ".... careful. Careful in life, careful with her emotions, and careful with herself. Too careful. At closer to thirty than twenty, she was feeling hemmed in by her small hometown and, she had to admit, by her own careful nature." Tempe is ready for a change so she branches out from her music therapy program at the hospital into trying to start children's music groups in Pleasant Hill. She takes an even bigger step by renting a room from Nash, a single father who is raising his son Phillip on a small farm.
Nash is a quiet man with a broken heart from the loss of his brother and the family he once knew. He is an accomplished artist but has set aside his metal and wood sculpting in order to focus on his raising his son. Nash is a man of few words and he feels that he and Phillip get along just fine on their own.
Tempe breezes into their lives and brings with her a breath of fresh air. Her love for children spills out over Phillip and over time, her music begins to soften Nash's hardened heart. I loved watching their relationship grow and seeing Nash give up his guarded and brooding nature. Phillip (or Flip as he calls himself) is adorable and he definitely steals the show at the end of the book.
This addition to the Braden series by Melissa Foster is a great read and a very touching story of healing and of forgiveness.
