I have to say that after watching the movie version of this book, I was fascinated by the case and the story of Timothy Evans and mostly by John Reginald Halliday Christie who was responsibly for murdering not only Timothy's wife, Beryl, who was pregnant, and infant daughter, Geraldine who would have never been able to identify her mother's murderer anyway. Christie also murdered his wife and 6 other women as well. Christie later admitted that he was responsible for the Evans murders even though Timothy Evans was executed for a crime that he did not commit and begged for his life. years later, they would recognize the flaws and there were no more executions in England. Ludovic Kennedy recognized these crimes as a major story of injustice. He has also written about the Lindbergh baby kidnapping and murder trial. Anyway, this book answers most of the questions about this serial killer. Sadly, 10 Rillington Place no longer exists on the map or in London, England. It was demolished years later unfortunately but the ghosts still remain with us. I hope this sad chapter of London history is not forgotten or destroyed because it taught everybody a lesson about injustice.
